學英文如果已經歷過"survival English"階段，現在要努力的就是讓自己更道地。問題是如何道地呢？當然沒有那麼容易，不是三兩句話就可以說完，但一個最簡單的方式可以讓你比較接近道地，就是多用片語準沒錯！ 

• Our advice helped them to smooth out their relationship.

        我們的建議幫助他們疏通關係。

• After a lot of back and forth, they reached an agreement.

          反覆討論後，他們達成協議。

• The fate of the project hinges on the decision of the council.

             這個專案的命運，取決於委員會的決定。

• The deal is nearly completed.  It's just a matter of tying up a few loose ends.

            交易完成。現就剩一些收尾工作。

• Ask Mary, she knows all the ins and outs of how the photocopier works.

             你可以問Mary，她對影印機的操作很了解。

• After much argument we thrashed out a plan.

             我們充份討論後擬定出一個計畫。

• In today's lecture I'd like to interpret this problem broadly rather than in depth.

          在今天的講課中，我想將問題闡述得廣泛些而不是深入透徹些。
