Would you like to refresh yourself? 要不要上廁所

David去拜訪他的美國客戶Tim，Tim請David喝咖啡、蛋糕及點心。
Tim: They just brought in refreshments. Please help yourself. 茶點準備好了，請用。 
David: Thank you. 謝謝。 
David想在吃茶點前先去廁所，所以當Tim說： 
Tim: Would you like to refresh yourself? 
以為Tim再次請他去用refreshments(茶點)的David說： 
David: Thank you, but before that I would like to go to the rest room. 
謝謝，但是我想先去洗手間。 
Tim: Of course. This way. 請往這邊。 
（Tim露出詫異的神色一邊說着，一邊指著廁所的位置。） 
【說明】
"Would you like to refresh yourself?"、"Would you like to wash your hands?"與"Would you like to go to the rest room?"是同樣的意思，乃委婉表示"你想不想上廁所？"之意。有時候也用作"一鼓作氣"的含意。
