假如你講英文有一開口就是"actually"的習慣，最好想辦法改變習慣。因為這是leader最不欣賞的一個英文字。

Actually是一個主觀的轉折語氣。意思是，我有不同想法。中文我們把它說成「實際上」、「其實」。

例如：
1. He seems to be doing nothing, but actually he is just biding his time.
他看上去無所事事，其實卻在等待良機。
2. What did he actually say?
他究竟講了什麼?

我發現，很多人用actually的時候，並沒有轉折或反駁的意思，只是在接別人的話頭的一個習慣。用錯了！

例如：
A: Your company is growing rapidly.
B: Yes. Actually we'll be taping into the greater China market this quarter.

Actually不是個好字，就文法沒錯，也不必常用。用多了Actually起碼有兩個缺點，第一是，讓人覺得你自以為是。最不受老美歡迎的10個字當中，actually就名列其中。以下是老外的觀察。

第二個缺點是，actually引導出來的，都是在別人的話裡做文章，你這樣說，我卻認為怎麼樣，久而久之，缺乏開創性，在談話中會變follow，而不是lead.
